Russian forces advance in Pokrovsk and Bakhmut districts

DeepState, a Ukrainian group of military analysts, has reported that Russian forces have advanced near four settlements in the Pokrovsk and Bakhmut districts in Donetsk Oblast.

Details: The Russians have made gains near the village of Zvanivka in the Bakhmut district and near the villages of Rivne and Dachne in the Pokrovsk district as well as within the city of Pokrovsk itself.

Background:

• On 13 December, sources told Ukrainska Pravda that the city of Siversk in Donetsk Oblast has almost completely been lost and regaining control of the city will require reserves.
• On 16 December, DeepState reported that Russian forces had captured Serebrianka in Donetsk Oblast and advanced near four settlements.
