Residential building damaged in Russian drone attack on Odesa Oblast, people injured

A residential building and a school were damaged in a Russian drone strike on Odesa Oblast on the evening of 17 December, leaving several people injured.

Quote: "An enemy drone attack damaged the windows of a nine-storey residential building and a school in the Odesa district. No fires were reported.

Emergency services are working at the scene."

Updated: Kiper confirmed after 01:00 on 18 December that seven people had been injured in the attack.

Quote: "So far, seven people are known to have been injured. Six received treatment at the scene, while one person was hospitalised in a moderate condition. Doctors are providing all necessary treatment."

Background:

  • On the night of 13-14 December, Russian forces conducted a large-scale combined attack on Odesa using drones and missiles. Authorities reported damage to civilian buildings as well as energy and industrial infrastructure.
  • A state-level emergency was declared in the oblast due to widespread power outages.
